The reason I choose this art photograph is
because it is a very creative photo that is combined with a beautiful lady with
a blue butterfly. This combination makes a perfect photo. First time I looked at
this photo, I thought it was a lady wearing a veil.

The main differences between Art and Press photography are that Art photography can edit or change their pictures as much as they want. But Press photography cannot change anything after take a picture. The reason why its difference is because they have difference purpose to show up their intentions, the main purpose of Art photography is dealing with fiction, fantasy, and manipulated images but Press photograph deal with the truth, facts and unaltered images. Also press photography must follow a code of ethics.
The similarities between art and press photography are they both use same type of tool to capture the image, like a camera. The other similarities is they both can be edited, but press photography can only edit certain degree like improve the quality of the picture or remove anything that would affect the main purpose of meaning. Art photography can be edited with no limits.
2. Is it ethical and acceptable to alter art photographs? Why? Why not?
Yes, I think it is ethical and acceptable to alter art photographs. The reason why is acceptable is the purpose of the art photographs. As a painter they want to edit or fix their work make it improve and convey their meaning of the photography and also, code of ethics rules doesn’t apply in art photographs so, I think it is ethical and acceptable.
