Part 1: The role of portraits in the early days of photography and portraits today

 1. What are the main differences and similarites between portraits in the early days of photography and portraits today?

Some of the main similation between portraits in the early days of photography and portraits today are mostly they capture human being and environment. People were capture the memories from the past and keep it for the present for the happiness and reminder what they done past time.
The main difference is today photography quality is much improve than early days, also nowdays photography offers different type of texture then earlier days. Back in the time they only had very limited selection on quality and texture for the picture. Also color of photo is one of main difference. Back in the time they offer only black and white, but now we can choose lot's of option, such as black and white, sepia, color and HD.

2. Who was the photographer and who was the subject of photographs in the past and today?

In the past, the photographer was mostly artist or painter. The reason is back in the time, cameras was not so cheap and it was very hard to operate. It require high knowldge of chemicals and elements because back in the time processing of photo  methods relied heavily on the use of plates and chemical compounds.

Today anyone can be a photographer. We can easily find a camera and very easy to operate than before. We don't have to change after we took a picture, just connect to the computer and upload the pictures to blog or send to anyone who you wish to send. I think today and back in the time the subject remain the same who ever wish to keep a memories, or something that you don't want to forget.

3. What was the impact of technology on the portraits in the past and today?

Technology has huge effect on the our living life. It helped esay to find or get information with out visiting the place. Also we can send photo to people who live the other side of earth within few second using the computer. Now days the camera itself has ability to support photo editing and beable to change color and exposure setting of the images.

New technology also impact on the time consuming. When i was young i remember that after we took a picture and convert to the film, i had to wait few days to get the picture film. But Now we it takes less than five minutes to get film print.
